Handmade yerba mate container made from Palo Santo wood. Natural product - color may vary slightly. Unique ergonomic round elongated shape resembling an egg. Made from a single piece of wood.
Palo Santo wood comes from the Guaiacum officinale tree, which grows only in the coastal areas of Central and South America. Due to extensive logging, the occurrence of this tree is limited, and the resources of Guaiacum officinale can currently be used only with great care. The Guaiacum officinale tree is called the holy wood, Palo Santo, for a reason. It has extraordinary properties. It is incredibly strong and heavy, which makes it exceptionally durable. It is also characterized by a high resin content (up to 30%), which was used by indigenous tribes in medicine. Due to this property, this tree was called the tree of life. Despite its difficult workability, Palo Santo wood was very popular. Due to its properties, beautiful grain, and consequently higher price, it offers its owners a certain touch of luxury. Regular mate drinkers appreciate the more pleasant taste and aroma of the resulting drink prepared in Palo Santo cups.
Note: Due to changes in humidity and temperature, the wood may crack occasionally. This is a natural feature of the material that may or may not occur and should be taken into account. To minimize the risk of cracking, it is worth greasing the walls with fat (olive or coconut oil) and letting the container stand for about 24 hours. Wipe off the residue with a cloth or paper towel. Repeat the whole process 2-3 times.
