Product detailed description
Parana yerba maté is made from selected yerba mate trees, which is ideal for chimarrao. We travel to the farthest regions in the interior of Brazil to achieve the perfect recipe for your chimarrao. This Brazilian Yerba Maté, or Erva Maté as it is called in Brazil, is of the Chimarrao type, i.e. finely ground and fresh, with a bright green taste and fresh aroma. Chimarrao is a symbolic drink of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, but it is also consumed in Paraná, Santa Catarina, and in cities where gaucho migration took place, such as Sinop in Mato Grosso. South American countries like Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay also drink chimarrao. Chimarrao differs significantly in color, texture, and taste from Argentine, Paraguayan, or Uruguayan yerba and looks more like green Matcha tea – a powder of finely chopped leaves with a small amount of stems. It is usually vacuum-packed already in the first week after harvest, retaining a higher level of chlorophyll, which gives it a bright neon green color. In general, chimarrao is lighter and fresher, with a less bitter taste. This makes it a good starting point for beginners or for those who find yerba mate too strong. After opening, the manufacturer recommends storing chimarrao in an airtight container in the refrigerator to keep its beautiful color and aroma as long as possible.
