Upon opening, you’re greeted by a strong, sweet aroma with smoky tones and a hint of plum, typical of maté dried using the Barbacuá method. The taste is unique, creamy, with hints of fresh fruit and leaf notes. Unusually for Barbacuá maté, it also stands out when prepared cold as tereré. The Rio Parana cooperative, through its brand Titrayju, promotes fair trade principles – purchasing yerba maté from settlers, integrating them, and paying them a fair price so families can thrive without having to leave their farms.
