PIPORÉ In the Guarani language, “PI” means foot, “PO” means hands, and “RE” means steps. This formed the word Piporé. According to legend, Chief Santos imprinted his feet and hands into the ground on the riverbank, leaving an indelible mark. He was baptized by the Jesuits with the name Santo Pipó.
